Golf is an Expensive Game to Play

Sure there are golf courses and golf clubs that are expensive to play on. Not all golf courses are out of the everyday person’s price range. There are lots of public courses that can even rival some of the most private golf courses out there.

 

Golf Takes Forever to Play

This is definitively not true. The average game of golf only takes around four hours to play. There is no rule that says that a full game has to be played. Many people play just nine out of the eighteen holes. Most people can fit in a quick game after work and, according to the rules of golf, the game still counts towards your handicap.

 

You Need a Bunch of Expensive Equipment to Play

Of course it is always nice to have all of you own clubs, shoes, clothing and so forth. Most golf courses have clubs for rent. This way you could possibly try out everyday clubs to even sometimes higher end equipment. Sometimes this is the best way to find out if golf is the right sport for you at a reasonable price.

 

Golf is a Man’s Sport

Every year more and more women are taking up the sport. Different from other sports, golf’s handicap system puts everyone on the same level field. The Equality Act 2010 does not permit discrimination, so everyone is treated equally in golf and country clubs.

 

Golf is a Snob’s Sport

Golf has developed into an ever so diverse sport. Many people still think that golf is still stuck in the Victorian Age where men wear a jacket and tie and women can only play on certain days. This is far from the truth. Many of the new players, fans, and courses are making the game more and more exciting than ever.
